Types of Yoga
There are different types of yoga available in classes so it is important that you choose the yoga that you feel is closest to your personality. Also you should be comfortable doing it.
Yoga Classes
Yoga for a beginner should be practiced under the supervision of an experienced Yogi. It is important because the yogi checks on your to maintain proper body alignment. Afterwards you can switch to DVDs for doing yoga but initially an instructor (yogi) is the best option.
Yoga Mindset
You should know that this is not competitive sports. You are there to outstretch others but just do the things you are comfortable doing.
Yoga Kit
Your yoga kit should include Yoga mat, a strap, and one or two yoga blocks. And yoga clothes which are generally the clothes that you are comfortable in and are sweat absorbent.
Avoid a big meal
Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach so do not eat just before the class. Do drink water, both before and after the class as you would be sweating a lot. |
